Reports: Sarfaraz Khan to play next round of Duleep Trophy despite being named for Bangladesh Tests

Flamboyant batter Sarfaraz Khan will be playing in the second round of the Duleep Trophy despite getting included in the two-match Test series against Bangladesh, starting September 19. As per reports, the Indian players will join the national camp in Chennai on September 12 as Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant, Yash Dayal and others have been released from their respective squads but not Sarfaraz.

He would instead play the second round of the Duleep Trophy from September 12 and will join the Indian team soon after that. Meanwhile, Suyash Prabhudesai and Himanshu Mantri have been called up to the India B squad for the rest of the tournament. Star batter Rinku Singh too has joined the India B camp in Bengaluru.

Multiple changes in India A squad

India A will miss the services of Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, Dhruv Jurel, Kuldeep Yadav, and Akash Deep in the remainder of the Duleep Trophy as they have been called up for the Bangladesh series. Pratham Singh, Akshay Wadkar, Shaik Rasheed, Shams Mulani, and Pulkit Narang have been called up to replace them.

Meanwhile, as per ESPNcricinfo, India A’s pacer Vidhwath Kaverappa will leave the camp and join the D team for the second round of the tournament.

Changes in India D camp

India C isn’t affected by the India call-ups. Meanwhile, India D will miss the services of Axar Patel and Tushar Deshpande. Patel has been called up for the Test series while Deshpande is out injured. Kaverappa will replace him while Nishant Sindhu has also been called up.
