Reports: PCB squashed rumors of Champions Trophy being completely shifted to Dubai

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) was said to be having problems with the renovation of the stadiums with reports suggesting that the entire Champions Trophy will be moving to Dubai as the stadiums in Pakistan might not be ready before the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025 tournament which is to start on the 19th of February.

This was set to be the first ICC event to take place in Pakistan after the 1996 ODI World Cup which will also be co-hosted by Dubai as per the hybrid model. Though the rumors of the Champions Trophy switching venues were spreading the PCB has squashed the rumors regarding this news where an official of the board has revealed that the matches will be held as Perth schedule and the venues will be ready and also brought up that the people spreading the news are tarnishing the image of the nation.

“All the work [related to stadiums] will be done by the first week of February. Pakistan will successfully host the Champions Trophy. No need to go by any rumors. We are committed to giving our best. There are people who are trying to tarnish Pakistan’s image on social media. We know who all they are and why they are doing this,” the PCB official said as quoted by Gulf News.
