The newly appointed chief selector of the Pakistan team Inzamam-u-Haq wants director Mickey Arthur and head coach Grant Bradburn to continue with Pakistan national team. Notably, the former cricketer was responsible for taking a call on their future. Reportedly, Inzamam has responded positively and convinced the new Cricket Technical Committee to let them continue.

Skipper Babar Azam was also part of the conversation about whether the duo would be allowed to be part of the selection committee. He too voted in favour of Arthur and Bradburn; thus, the Zaka Ashraf-led organisation confirmed their stay in the national set-up.

“It was Inzamam who gave positive feedback about Mickey Arthur and even Bradburn, and assured the Chairman he will be able to work well with them and they can all do their best to select the best teams for coming events,” the Pakistan Insider was quoted as saying by NDTV Sports.

Meanwhile, Inzamam has stated that he has a terrific understanding with Arthur as they have previously worked together. He also added saying that that the upcoming months will be important for Pakistan as they are aiming to do well in Asia Cup, the ODI World Cup and in the Test series against Australia.

“I have worked before as Chief Selector and formed a good understanding with Mickey. With the Asia Cup and World Cup coming up and then a Test tour to Australia it is going to be a challenge in the coming days for us,” Inzamam said.

I want to do a better job than I did the last time as chief selector: Inzamam

The 53-year-old was first appointed as the chief selector in 2016 before getting fired in 2019. After four years, Inzamam is back at the helm of things and wants to do a better job this time around. He expects the team to play positive cricket going forward and do well in upcoming tournaments.

“I want to do a better job than I did the last time as chief selector and I am confident we have a bunch of strong players with Babar Azam as captain and if we continue to play positively like we did recently in Sri Lanka then we can move forward confidently,” Inzamam added.
