The iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground in London has announced significant price increases for high-profile matches scheduled for the 2025 summer season. Lord’s, also known as the “Home of Cricket,” will host several important fixtures in 2025, including the third World Test Championship (WTC) final and a Test match against India. However, the venue has recently faced criticism for its pricing strategy, particularly after poor attendance during the latter stages of matches against West Indies and Sri Lanka.

The most notable price hikes are for the Test match against India. For the first three days, ticket prices will range from 90 Euros for restricted view seats to a premium of 175 Euros for the best seats. Accessibility tickets are priced at 120 Euros. Seeing the trend of early finishes in recent Test matches, prices for the fourth day have been adjusted downward, starting at 50 Euros and going up to 150 Euros.

The highly awaited WTC final which is scheduled to begin at the iconic venue from June 11 onwards, with a reserve day, has adult tickets priced between 70 Euros and 130 Euros, while under-16 tickets range from 20 Euros to 50 Euros.

We will be paying particular attention to the structure of fourth-day tickets: Guy Lavender

The Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC), which manages Lord’s, has acknowledged the need to review their pricing strategy, especially for the later days of Test matches.

“We will be paying particular attention to the structure of fourth-day tickets in our pricing reviews given the way that Test cricket is now being played. From the outset, we priced U16 tickets at just £15 for weekend days of our Test matches and introduced a group discount for day four,” MCC chief secretary and executive Guy Lavender had said in a statement.

The MCC has made efforts to accommodate younger fans by offering U16 tickets at 15 Euros for weekend days of Test matches and introducing group discounts for the fourth day. However, Lavender spoke about the challenges of adjusting prices.

“It is difficult to dynamically discount tickets in hindsight when thousands of supporters have applied through our 2023 ballot process and paid the full price,” Lavender added.
