The auction for the IPL 2024 is just a few weeks away as the mega event is all set to take place in Dubai on December 19. Ahead of the big day, all ten franchises have been given a deadline till November 26 to release their list of retained players. Hence, all the franchises are finalizing their squads ahead of the next season and trading players with other franchises.
According to reports, Delhi Capitals (DC) have decided to part ways with Sarfaraz Khan and Manish Pandey. Notably, Delhi finished on the second last spot on the points table (ninth) with five wins from 14 matches having ten points to their name.

Despite having a Bradmanesque run in the domestic circuit, Sarfaraz hasn’t been able to leave his mark in the IPL. The 26-year-old scored just 53 runs from four matches at an average of 13.25. In the 50 matches played in his IPL career, he has scored 585 runs at an average of 22.50 and a strike rate of 130.58 with one fifty to his name.
On the other hand, Manish Pandey scored 160 runs from ten matches at an average of 17.78. Notably, he was the first Indian to score a hundred in the IPL and has scored 3808 runs from 170 matches at an average of 29.07 with one hundred 22 fifties.
According to Arani Basu from Times of India, the franchise is not looking to trade them for any players from other teams but instead is looking to buy new talent from the auction.

Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals will be bolstered by the return of their captain and wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant in the upcoming season. DC’s Director of Cricket Sourav Ganguly has confirmed Pant’s availability in the next season.
The 26-year-old recently joined Delhi Capitals training camp in Kolkata but did not train with his teammates during their early preparations for the next season. Notably, Pant has been out of action after surviving a horrific car crash on December 30, 2022.
