With the 17th edition of the IPL (Indian Premier League) 2024 in full flow, there is some big news coming about the cricket carnival’s business end. If recent reports are to be believed, the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai is all set to host the final of the IPL 2024 and one Qualifier as well.
On the other hand, the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad is set to host the other Qualifier and the Eliminator of the competition. It is worth noting that the same stadium hosted the final of the IPL 2023, where Chennai Super Kings defeated Gujarat Titans to lift their fifth IPL title.
“The IPL Governing Council has followed the tradition of holding the opening game and final at the home venue of last year’s defending champions—in this case Chennai Super Kings,” a senior BCCI official was quoted as saying by India Today.

CSK get off to flying start as GT still await first clash
Speaking of Chennai Super Kings, the side has played one game in the IPL 2024 so far. Led by Ruturaj Gaikwad, CSK took on Faf du Plessis’ Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on March 22 in the season opener.
Chennai managed to dominate Bengaluru and register their first points on the board. The defending champions will look to continue their showings, put in even better performances, and maintain their position at the top of the standings.
On the other hand, Gujarat Titans are still awaiting their very first game of the IPL 2024. The side will take on five-time champions Mumbai Indians in the fifth game of the tournament at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on March 24. The clash will be the very first game of the season for both sides, and both teams will aim to get off to positive starts in their respective IPL 2024 campaigns.
