In a reported development, a formal complaint has been filed in the name of the legendary cricketer MS Dhoni with the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India). The complainant Rajesh Kumar Maurya, an Amethi, Uttar Pradesh resident, has filed the charges under Rule 39 of the BCCI Ethics Committee.

For the unversed, the allegations have been charged in the case related to the ongoing INR 15 crore dispute between Dhoni and his ex-business partner Mihir Diwakar under Aarka Sports Management that operated cricket academies under the former India cricketer’s name.

Now, the board committee has demanded an official response from Dhoni by August 30, while Maurya will has been granted a September 16 deadline to submit his reply on the 43-year-old’s revert, according to DNA.

A case was filed against former cricketer Mihir Diwakar in the Ranchi Civil Court for alleged fraud involving the Ranchi-born. The case pertained to fraud charges against Diwakar, Soumya Das, and Aarka Sports, who had been associated with Dhoni.

On March 20, 2024, after the local civil court found the case to be correct on the first impression during the hearing, the court summoned Mihir Diwakar, Soumya Das, and Aarka Sports Management Pvt. Ltd. On Dhoni’s behalf, it was alleged that Diwakar breached the terms of agreement between both the parties.

Even after the agreement was terminated in 2021, Dhoni’s name was being used by Mihir Diwakar’s company, with Dhoni’s lawyer even claiming that the company opened several academies, but the former India skipper did not get the agreed upon profits.

As a result of the violation, Dhoni incurred a loss of INR 15 crore. Further developments and statements by both the parties are now awaited.
