Reasons Explained: Why green tree symbols are being displayed for dot balls bowled in RCB versus MI WPL 2024 match

The coveted Women’s Premier League (WPL 2024) is at its business end and the battle has got intense more than ever before. This time the fans showed up in large numbers, especially for the games where Royal Challengers Bangalore have played the other teams. Hence, the broadcasters are also leaving no stone unturned to enhance the fan viewing experience along with motivating people towards caring for Mother Nature.

In the same vein, on Tuesday, March 12, in the ongoing match 19 of the WPL 2024 between Royal Challengers Bangalore Women (RCB) and Mumbai Indians Women (MI), have started displaying the dot balls with a ticker represented in the form of a ‘Green Tree’ symbol. Notably, the game is being played at the renowned Arun Jaitely Stadium in Delhi. Though, no official announcement has been released by the BCCI regarding this initiative and hence the reason for displaying the dot balls in this new fashion has remained under the shadow.

It is worthy to inform the cricket fans that during the 2023 edition of the WPL, the renowned Tata Group, who are also the official sponsors of the WPL had taken a great initiative of planting 500 trees for each dot balls bowled in the tournament. As a result, it is expected that in the remaining playoff games of the WPL 2024, the initiative will be in full swing. Speaking of the result of the last year, the Indian business giant planted 147,000 saplings after 294 dot balls were delivered during the four playoff fixtures.
