Star India batter Shreyas Iyer continued his brilliant run of form in the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2024-25. Smashing an impeccable double century, Shreyas Iyer played a knock worth remembering against Odisha at the Sharad Pawar Cricket Academy in Mumbai on Thursday, November 7.

He achieved the milestone with a brilliant boundary against Debabrata Pradhan. Throughout his knock, Iyer managed to hit 24 fours and nine sixes. Managing to score 233 runs in 228 deliveries, this was Iyer’s double century in first-class cricket and his second in the Ranji Trophy, with his first coming in October 2015.

Iyer continued his overnight score of 152* as he had already completed his century on day 1 of the clash. Coming into bat when Mumbai found themselves on a score of 154/3, the duo of Iyer and Siddhesh Lad put in a brilliant performance and built a solid 354-run partnership for the fourth wicket.

Completing his double ton did not stop Iyer, as he followed it up with another cracking four against Pradhan off the very next delivery that he faced. It is also worth noting that the double century is Iyer’s second ton on the trot, as he recently completed his ton against Maharashtra in the second round of the Ranji Trophy.

Mumbai declare at 602/4 runs
