Ranji Trophy 2024-25: Ishan Kishan named Jharkhand captain in 16-man squad
Like many other state associations, the Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) has also come forward to name its 16-man squad for the first two rounds that will be taking part in the upcoming edition of the Ranji Trophy 2024-25, starting October 11.
Star India wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan, who did not feature for the side during the 2023-24 season, has been handed over the captaincy duties for the forthcoming season of the red-ball tournament. This might well be the perfect opportunity for Kishan to get back into the national team as well, since he lost the BCCI central contract last year for not taking part in domestic cricket during his absence from international series.
Anukul Roy, who plays for Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League, is also a part of the squad, while youngsters like Kumar Kushagra and Virat Singh have also been announced. Additionally, Virat has also been named as Kishan’s deputy.
Some other notable inclusions in the Jharkhand side include Utkarsh Singh, Supriyo Chakraborty, Sharandeep Singh and Aryaman Sen.
