Royal Challengers Bangalore batter Rajat Patidar who was earlier ruled out of the ongoing Indian Premier League due to an Achilles heel injury has now undergone a successful surgery and the right-handed batter took to his Instagram account to inform about the same on Wednesday, May 3.
On April 5, Royal Challengers Bangalore had informed ‘in a piece of not-so-good news’ that Patidar won’t be available to render his services for the franchise in the 2023 season due to a heel injury. Patidar was undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore earlier and it was believed that he would be able to join the franchise in the second half of the season but after a string of check-ups and medical prognosis it was concluded that it wasn’t meant to be.
Patidar took to his official Instagram account and shared a picture of him reclining on a hospital bed and captioned the post as, “Just wanted to give a quick update to all my supporters out there. I recently underwent surgery for an injury that has been troubling me for a while now, but I’m happy to say that it went well and I’m on the road to recovery! I can’t wait to get back out there on the field and do what I love the most. Thank you all for your prayers and well wishes, they mean the world to me. Back, soon!”
RCB enjoying decent season
In the leadership of Faf du Plessis, RCB have played decently in the ongoing season thus far. They are currently fifth on the IPL points table with five wins. They have a Net Run Rate (NRR) -0.030 and it is something that they would love to fix going ahead.
Faf du Plessis has led from the front in the ongoing season and scored 466 runs in nine matches and has aggregated five half-centuries to his name. He is one of the top contenders to bag the IPL 2023 Orange Cap this season.
