The Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) Stadium in Dharamshala, is the second home of Punjab Kings (PBKS) for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season. Located in the hill station of Himachal Pradesh, the picturesque stadium will host Punjab’s last two home games of the year, one of which will take place on Sunday, May 5.
In the 53rd match, Sam Curran and his team will take on the defending champions, Chennai Super Kings (CSK). The two teams faced each other a few days ago and it was PBKS who emerged victorious after defeating CSK by seven wickets in Chennai. They matched Mumbai Indians’ record of five straight wins against CSK.
Punjab are coming on the back of two impressive wins and will be aiming to continue their dominance and move closer to the playoffs. They are currently seventh in the points table with four wins from 10 matches. On the other hand, CSK are in the fifth position with five wins from 10 matches.

1. Against RCB in 2011, PBKS scored 232/2, their second-highest score and the highest ever in Dharamshala in the IPL.
2. PBKS won the above-mentioned match by 111 runs which is the 8th highest margin of victory in IPL history.
3. Adam Gilchrist’s 106 in the 2011 match against RCB is the highest individual score in Dharamshala and the 8th-highest individual score for PBKS.
4. The partnership of 206 between Adam Gilchrist and Shaun Marsh in the above-mentioned match is the highest for PBKS for any wicket, and the fourth-highest overall.
5. Piyush Chawla’s 4/17 in the above-mentioned match is the eighth-best bowling figure for PBKS in IPL, and the second-best bowling figure in the IPL in Dharamshala.
6. Against Delhi Capitals in 2011, PBKS successfully defended a target of 170, which is the lowest total successfully defended in Dharamshala.
7. Against CSK in 2012, Adam Gilchrist made 4 dismissals as a wicketkeeper. This is the only such instance in Dharamsala and the first such instance for PBKS.
8. Against MI in 2013, Shaun Marsh and Azhar Mahmood had a partnership of 148, which is the third-highest for any wicket for PBKS.
