MS Dhoni’s legendary cricketing career and immense popularity is evident to everyone. The former Indian captain has become a cultural icon, since making his debut for the country. During a recent event for the animated series ‘Baahubali: Crown of Blood’ in Hyderabad, director SS Rajamouli replied to a question that grabbed the interest of Dhoni fans.
The question was around an apparent similarity in the look of Amarendra Baahubali and the iconic cricketer. “Bahubali character face design is the same as Dhoni, is that because you love MS Dhoni?” the reporter asked. Rajamouli acknowledged the resemblance with a warm smile. “Probably character creators are also his fans like me,” Rajamouli responded.
The Baahubali franchise, directed by Rajamouli, has become a cult film since it released its first part in 2015. The films have not only shattered box office records but have also given a new dimension to Indian cinema.
