India batter Prithvi Shaw will be confined to the sidelines after sustaining a knee injury while playing for Northamptonshire in the one-day championship clash against Durham. The young batter will be missing out on action for at least three months and will therefore not be a part of the majority of India’s 2023-24 domestic season.
Shaw consulted a surgeon in London after sustaining the injury before heading to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru for further assessment. As per a Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) official, the management is adopting a ‘wait-and-watch approach’ to have him ready for the Ranji Trophy in January.
Presently, considering his current situation, Shaw is set to miss the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy which is slated to begin on October 16.
