Youngster Prithvi Shaw was in brilliant form during his short stint with Northamptonshire but a Posterior Cruciate Ligament (PCL) injury ruled him out of the One-Day Cup. He is currently on the road to recovery and as things stand, the cricketer may need at least two months to gain complete fitness.

Meanwhile, Shaw recently shared a cryptic post on his Instagram story. The 23-year-old mentioned that people always act good when you step up in life but it completely changes during the bad phase.

“People give hands when you step up in life, and always leaves it when you go down from steps,” Shaw mentioned.

Notably, playing for Northamptonshire, Shaw hit 429 runs in four innings, which included a record-breaking 244 off 153 against Somerset. He looked unstoppable and his knock helped the Northants win by 87 runs. The club head coach John Sadler mentioned that it is a massive shame that the cricketer will not be able to continue due to his injury.

“In his short stint Prithvi has made a huge impact on us as a club. It’s a huge shame he won’t be with us for the remainder of this competition,” Sadler was quoted as saying by NDTV.

When it comes to India’s domestic cricket, Shaw was phenomenal in the Ranji Trophy, amassing 595 runs in just six matches. However, he could not carry that form in the IPL and was even dropped from Delhi Capitals’ XI at one point. Shaw was in India’s scheme of things in T20Is, as the cricketer was called up for the New Zealand series earlier in the year but did not get a chance to feature and after a dismal performance in the IPL, he was not considered for selection again.

However, Shaw will be determined to make a strong return by performing on a consistent basis in domestic cricket next season. With the T20 World Cup set to take place next year, he will be eyeing to seal a spot in the squad.
