Rohit Sharma added a feather to his illustrious cap, leading India to glory in the T20 World Cup Final against South Africa on Saturday, June 29. Rohit was announced as the captain of the national team for the tournament when his IPL franchise Mumbai Indians decided to try Hardik Pandya as the future prospect, which led to a controversial row for months earlier this year.
While Rohit’s captaincy and leadership skills have never been in question, the Nagpur-born’s dismal performances with the bat have invited for massive criticism. Additionally, a section of fans on the internet have also called the cricketer for his fitness and his inclusion in the squad despite being ‘fat’. However, such is the nature of Rohit Sharma that he prefers to shut everyone’s mouth with performances, and this is nothing new.
Right after the Men in Blue lifted the prestigious silverware, ending their trophy drought under Rohit’s leadership, an old social media post of the cricketer has now resurfaced on the internet, and is taking the netizens by storm of the unchanged, and self-confident behaviour of the Hitman.
“People have questioned whether I deserve to be on the team for the world cup, I prefer to answer with my bat 🙂 :),” Rohit had shared on microblogging platform X (formerly Twitter), way back on April 17, 2010.
