Team India completed a 70-run win over New Zealand in the first semi-final of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 on Wednesday, November 15 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Virat, Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Shubman Gill and Mohammed Shami put up stellar performances to help their side reach their fourth final in World Cup history. In the tournament where India have dominated their opposition convincingly and crushed them with the heaviest of defeats, they were finally tested against New Zealand who weren’t willing to kneel under pressure.
The Men in Blue also felt the heat of the big game as they made quite a few blunders in the field resulting in mis-fields, catch drops and overthrows. However, the fielding coach T. Dilip still lauded the efforts of the fielders who didn’t let the pressure get to them and took crucial catches at important stages. As per the tradition, the fans were eagerly waiting for the fielding medal ceremony video by the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) after the end of the game.
