South Africa and Australia are locking horns in the second semi-final of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 on Thursday, November 16 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. After opting to bat first, the Proteas were bundled out for 212 in 49.4 overs on a tricky pitch. David Miller was the lone warrior in South Africa’s innings as he played a brilliant innings of 101 (116).
In the second innings, Australia got off to a great start as openers Travis Head and David Warner (29 off 18) added 60 runs for the first wicket off 37 balls. However, Aiden Markram got the first strike for his team as he destroyed the stumps of David Warner.
In the very next over, South Africa got their second success as Mitchell Marsh hit one straight to cover where Rassie van der Dussen completed an exceptional catch. The ball was travelling at lightning speed as Van der Dussen dived to his right to complete a grab-a-stunner and help his side get their second success.
