With 14 points, India currently leads the points standings, while South Africa trailing closely behind with 12 points.
The Men in Blue are the only team who have already secured their semifinal spot and are yet to suffer a defeat in the ongoing competition. The hosts outclassed the Kusal-Mendis-led Sri Lanka with a convincing 302-run win at the storied Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai in their recent match. Notably, the 2011 ODI World Cup final between India and Sri Lanka took place at the same stadium in which the hosts prevailed by six wickets to claim their second title in the prestigious competition in 28 years.
