ODI World Cup 2023: Hyderabad stadium becomes high security zone with 1500 police officers on duty and 360 CCTV cameras

The ODI World Cup 2023 is well underway, and after many controversies and discussions, the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad is finally all set to host a World Cup game. The clash between Pakistan and the Netherlands, which is the second game of the ODI World Cup, is set to be hosted in Hyderabad, and in preparation for the competition, the Telangana police have deployed 1,500 policemen on duty to provide security in the stadium.

Furthermore, as many as 360 CCTV cameras in and around the stadium have been used to closely monitor the activity in the stands as well. Keeping the spectators in mind, the authorities have also arranged for up to 18 parking spots for both two- and four-wheelers. The citizens have also been encouraged to use the metro services to avoid traffic jams and the scarcity of parking spots.

With the arrangements in mind, the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium is prepared and ready to host their first clash of the ODI World Cup 2023. The stadium has a capacity of approximately 39,000 people.

Hyderabad turns into high security zone ahead of Pakistan’s ODI World Cup opener

Various security measures have been used ahead of the Pakistan versus Netherlands fixture. As per Indian Express, recently, Rachakonda police commissioner D. S. Chauhan came forward to state that a joint command and a control room have been established on the south side of the venue, which will be used to monitor the CCTV footage and help in taking action right from the get-go.

Furthermore, the commissioner also said that Gate 1 of the stadium will exclusively be used by the players and no one else, and the fans will be allowed through the gates as per their tickets. An evacuation plan has also been put into place if needed.

As the clash approaches, it could be interesting to see how the proceedings occur in Hyderabad and how Pakistan and Netherlands fare against each other as they gear up to kick off their ODI World Cup campaigns.
