Game 40 of the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023 will feature a clash between England and the Netherlands at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune on Wednesday, November 8. Both sides have put in below-par performances in the tournament and are well out of the race to make it to the knockout stages of the competition.

England find themselves in tenth place in the standings with just one win in seven matches. On the other hand, the Netherlands have registered two wins in the seven games that they have played in the tournament so far.

As the clash at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium approaches, many fans will be wondering how the weather will fare when the defending champions take centre stage against the Netherlands.

According to weather.com, there is a 24% chance of rain during the day, which increases to 38% at night. The humidity will be 61% during the day and rise to 78% at night, and there is some chance that rain could play spoilsport.

Furthermore, the temperature is expected to be 32° Celsius during the day and 22° Celsius at night. The sky will be cloudy during the day and night, and it could be interesting to see how the weather fares in Pune.

England look to clinch consolation win

Speaking of England’s ODI World Cup 2023, the side has been unable to perform to the best of their abilities. Coming into the competition as the defending champions, England were expected to be the heavy favourites. However, their performances have suggested otherwise.

The side will be taking on the Netherlands after their recent loss against arch-rivals Australia. In a seemingly close game, the Men in Yellow managed to topple the Jos Buttler-led side and maintain their position in the top four, eliminating England from the race for qualification.

However, sitting at the bottom of the standings, England will be keen on registering their second win of the campaign, and it could be interesting to see whether the Netherlands can cause yet another upset.
