India’s chief middle-order batter, Kohli has been in staggering form in the ongoing World Cup, with scores of 85, unbeaten 55, 16, unbeaten 103 and 95 in five victories of his team. He saved India from a precarious situation against Australia in their tournament opener, when his match-winning stand with KL Rahul helped them recover AFTER a top-order collapse to chase 200 in Chennai.

Kohli stood tall against Afghanistan in the second game in Delhi, where his half-century guided India to a comfortable eight-wicket win after Rohit Sharma’s berserk century. While his bat did not shed as much fire against Pakistan in Ahmedabad in arguably the biggest clash of the World Cup, Kohli made up for it with a Player of the Match 103 against Bangladesh in Pune before helping India break a 20-year-long jinx against New Zealand at ICC events with his 95-run effort in Dharamsala.

Having missed out on equalling Tendulkar’s 49 in the previous match, Kohli will be raring to go for the kill when India run into a struggling England in Lucknow on October 29.
