Social media was filled with praise for New Zealand who scripted one of the most historic wins on Indian soil by defending the second-lowest total in Tests in India. Former Indian and cricketers from other nations with Wasim Jaffer, Yuvraj Singh, and Lisa Sthalekar, to name a few, commended the Kiwis for a stunning display which resulted in India suffering their first whitewash in the longest format at home after a period of 90 years.
Meanwhile, former Sri Lankan skipper, Angelo Mathews, was one of the first people to congratulate Sri Lanka for emerging as the deserving champions of the Hong Kong Sixes 2024 by overcoming Pakistan by three wickets with an over in the bank.
No praise high enough for this achievement from NZ. Possibly the greatest moment in NZ Cricket history. They outplayed India in every department in the toughest place to come and win, and deserve all the accolades and respect. Well played @BLACKCAPS 👏🏻👏🏻 #INDvNZ pic.twitter.com/P26qa1oE89

Cricket truly is a humbling sport, isn’t it? Just months after our T20 World Cup win, we face a historic whitewash. That’s the beauty of this game! Bigger tests lie ahead with the Australia series & the way forward is to introspect, learn and look up!
Congratulations to the…

What a time to be a Kiwi. An amazing Test series played in India with us glued to our TV’s for the 3 Tests. Then the women winning the @T20WorldCup 🏆

Congrats @BLACKCAPS on a historic win, a first series whitewash on Indian soil in this century. And every player in the squad put their hands up when their team needed them. #INDvsNZ

Earlier generations batsman’s never played on these kind of tracks . These tracks are prepared for 2/3 day test matches . You Don’t need Murli, Warne or saqi on these pitches to get the teams out. Anyone can get anyone out https://t.co/xJynSAfDqS

Amazing from New Zealand. A population of less than 6 million. No Kane Williamson. They have conquered an unenviable task, and both men’s and women’s teams have had an historic and proud few weeks.
