‘Nobody in world can stop me’ – Jasprit Bumrah’s savage response on ‘toughest batter to bowl’ query

Jasprit Bumrah is reigning supreme after his match-winning performances for the Indian team day in and day out. He is the team’s premier bowler across formats and any captain’s go-to man. His performance in the T20 World Cup 2024 echoed through the chambers and the 30-year-old is a nightmare to any batter in the world.

Attending an event, the right-arm pacer was subjected to a bouncer when anchor asked about the toughest batter to bowl. The yorker king, however, had a picture-perfect answer as he quipped that he is unstoppable. For the unversed, the Ahmedabad-born grabbed Player of the Series in the T20 World Cup 2024, becoming the first bowler to do so in T20I events.

“Look I want to give a good answer, but the real factor is that I don’t want anyone to take over me in my head. I respect everyone but, in my head, I tell myself that if I do my job well, there’s nobody in the world who can stop me,” said Bumrah.

Jasprit Bumrah plucked 15 wickets in the tournament at a stupendous average of 8.26. His economy rate of 4.17 in the global event is the best for any bowler with over 100 balls in an edition of the T20 World Cup. Moreover, he became the only third bowler after Glenn McGrath and Mitchell Starc to be named as Player of the Series across all ICC events.
