Australia skipper Pat Cummins and India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant took a hilarious dig at David Warner after the latter joined the newly-formed ‘Threads’ social media platform. The social media platform owned by Meta is aimed to rival the micro-blogging platform Twitter.

As celebrities and cricketers have extended their reach to the new platform, David Warner too made his presence on Threads, making an announcement by tagging the Aussie skipper Cummins. However, in a hilarious turn of events, Cummins took a jibe at the Aussie batter and was later joined by Rishabh Pant in a rib-tickling banter.

“Hey I’m now on threads @patcummins30,” shared David Warner.

“No dance videos on here plz,” Cummins responded.

“Best advice bro (laughing emoji),” Rishabh Pant joined the banter.

It is no secret that Warner enjoys his time on social media, sharing his dance videos on Indian songs which has garnered massive following from the Indian fans. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, Warner danced on songs of megastar Shah Rukh Khan, Allu Arjun and Kajal Aggarwal among others on his Instagram to keep his fans entertained.

Australia gunning to retain the Ashes

Speaking about the national team, Warner and Cummins are currently in the midst of the five-match Ashes series in England. Notably, the Aussies have taken a 2-0 lead in the crucial series following dramatic wins in the first two Tests and will be gunning to retain the Ashes.

Meanwhile, the Three Lions will need to up the ante and earn comprehensive wins to get back on level terms in the series. The final two Test matches will be played at the Old Trafford and The Oval.

Australia haven’t claimed an away Ashes series since 2001. Meanwhile, the English side failed to lift the trophy since 2015 and will be raring to push through to get back on level terms and win the series.
