The Netherlands will be featuring in a T20 tri-series against Ireland and Scotland at home. The series comes as a crucial part of their preparations for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024 in the West Indies and the United States of America. The series will be held in Amstelveen from May 18 to 24 and barring May 21, the schedule is tightly packed for all other days.

The series which sees all three European teams will follow the round-robin format as every team will pit against each other twice with no Final being played. As for Ireland, they have just completed their jampacked schedule of an all-format tour against Afghanistan and they will further host Pakistan for a three-match T20I series in May. The tri-series will begin shortly after the Pakistan series wraps up.

“We are excited to host this Tri-Series as part of our preparation for the T20 World Cup played in America and the West Indies in June. Twenty teams will be competing in this year’s event which makes this World Cup a truly global event, with more than a billion TV viewers worldwide. The Netherlands team will be aiming to emulate the success they had in Australia in 2022,” said Roland Lefebvre, high-performance director at the KNCB (Royal Dutch Cricket Association) as quoted by ESPNcricinfo.

All three teams find themselves in different Groups for T20 World Cup 2024

The series is crucial for Netherlands and Scotland as they eye for absolute preparation before they take a flight to Barbados this June. Having played fifty over games in World Cup League 2 they will eye a strong foundation as they march on unfamiliar territory.
