Star India wicket-keeper batter Dhruv Jurel is all set to make his Border-Gavaskar Trophy debut. The batter has risen through the ranks and has become an important member of India’s Test set-up. He is expected to be seen in action when India takes on Australia in Perth from Friday, November 22.

Recently, Jurel took centre stage and talked about the players from whom he has been drawing inspiration all his life. He named the likes of MS Dhoni, Virender Sehwag, and many more legends as his inspiration.

“Virender Sehwag—my family used to watch him in the beginning—AB de Villiers because of his innovation, the calmness of MS Dhoni, the aggression of Virat Kohli, and the ease of Rohit Sharma. There are so many cricketers from whom I’ve drawn inspiration,” Jurel told Star Sports.

Furthermore, Jurel also revealed that playing Test cricket for the Indian team was his biggest dream. He talked about how he used to wake up early to watch India’s Test matches.

“I remember when matches were held in Australia, New Zealand, and England, we had to set alarms because the time zone was different. I was always filled with excitement, and now that I’m here, I’m hopeful for the chance to play in the matches. I am still very excited, though there are some butterflies in my stomach, but I am looking forward to it,” Jurel said.
