Mohammad Nabi to retire from ODIs after Champions Trophy 2025

In a major development for Afghanistan cricket, the side’s ace all-rounder Mohammad Nabi is all set to retire from ODI cricket after the conclusion of the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025 in Pakistan. Afghanistan Cricket Board chief executive Naseeb Khan confirmed the development.

It is worth noting that Nabi has been one of the most important players in Afghanistan’s rise to fame in the sport. The 39-year-old has represented his country across 165 ODI matches and has scored 3549 runs with an average of 27.3 runs.

Furthermore, he has also taken 171 wickets in the process. His contribution to Afghanistan Cricket has been unmatched, and his absence after his retirement would surely be felt. Talking of the same, Naseeb Khan took center stage and opined that Nabi confirmed that he would be retiring from ODI, but he will continue to participate in T20Is.

After the Champions Trophy, what I understand is that he is expected to continue his T20 career, and that is the plan until now,” Naseeb Khan told Cricbuzz.
