Mumbai Indians Women (MI-W) were looking good in the Women’s Premier League 2024. After an initial struggle, they got back on track in time and saw themselves playing Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the Eliminator. But the RCB women were in great touch and they continued the same by handing over the 2023 champions a heartbreak and defeated them by five runs.
Ahead of the 2025 edition of the Women’s Premier League, MI have retained 14 players and entered the auction with INR 2.65 crore in their purse and four slots to fill. They lacked strong lower-middle-order batting options in the last season and the shopping for the same was on cards ahead of the auctions. They bought Nadine de Klerk in a steal deal, young batting sensation G Kamalini, and all-rounder Sanskriti Gupta.
They retained their core key players in Harmanpreet Kaur, Hayley Matthews, Nat Sciver-Brunt, Amelia Kerr, Pooja Vastrakar, and Yastika Bhatia.
