India will host the 2025 edition of the Men’s Asia Cup in T20 format. On the other hand, the tournament will be played in a 50-over format in Bangladesh in 2027.

Six teams India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan will compete in a total of 13 matches in the tournament, according to the Asian Cricket Council’s Invitation for Expressions of Interest for the sponsorship rights document. A sixth team will be chosen through a qualifying event.

Although dates have not yet been confirmed, ACC insiders have suggested it might occur in September, after the nation’s monsoon season has ended.

India have a busy schedule for 2023–2027 according to the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) Future Tours Program (FTP) 2023–27. The country will play England in a limited-overs series in January–February and then host the Champions Trophy in February–March.

Following the IPL, the team will tour England in June and August before playing three ODIs and as many T20Is in Bangladesh. Thus, it is anticipated that the Asia Cup will take place in October, following the Bangladesh series but before the two-match Test series against the West Indies. However, sources in the BCCI clarified that no decision has been taken about the possible venues, yet.

There will not be a men’s Asian tournament in 2026, but there will be a women’s Asia Cup in a T20 format that year, and after that there will be a men’s U-19 and Emerging Teams Asia Cup.

The Asia Cup was held in a hybrid format last year, with India playing all of its matches in Sri Lanka and Pakistan hosting a few matches at home. India won the title, defeating Sri Lanka by 10 wickets in the final at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, led by skipper Rohit Sharma.
