The ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT 2024-25) seems to have reached its aggressive peak, with India having won the first Test in Perth and Australia making a comeback by winning the second Test in Adelaide. Meanwhile, there have been several instances where the Indian players have been seen bantering with the Aussies. In the same vein, the star pacer Mohammed Siraj garnered immense limelight due to his aggressive send-off to Travis Head on Day 2.

Usually, the aggressive send-offs are a part of Siraj’s game and are nothing out of the ordinary, the star pacer has been facing the wrath of the fans for the same. Furthermore, several pundits also took centre stage and talked about Siraj’s on-the-field behaviour. The former Australia Captain and legend, Mark Taylor, chimed in with his two cents on the Head-Siraj incident and opined that a match ban could be on the cards for Siraj.

“I like his competitive nature; he’s a fine bowler, I don’t like the fact that when he hits a guy on the pads, and he thinks he’s got him out LBW, he continues to run down the pitch, past the batsman, almost gets to the keeper, and then looks around to the umpire to see if he’s going to give it out,” Taylor said on the Willow Talk podcast.

“That’s got to stop, and if it doesn’t stop shortly, someone – and it’ll be the umpires or the match referee – might stop it for him, and give him a game off. We don’t want that,” he added further.
