Musheer Khan produced a batting masterclass in the ongoing Duleep Trophy the 19-year-old showed tremendous grit, determination, and maturity to turn the tables for India B. They were 94/7 at one stage of the game after their middle order was completely exposed, with Sarfaraz Khan, Rishabh Pant, and Sai Kishore scoring in single digits while Nitish Kumar Reddy and Washington Sundar failing to even open their tally.

There was pressure on Musheer, who played some brilliant cricket on Day 1 and 2 of the Duleep Trophy. He stitched a staggering partnership of 205 runs with Navdeep Saini, which changed the dynamics of the game. India A was in a position of domination but Musheer wreaked havoc, which brought India B back into the contest.

He made 181 runs and sent a message to the selectors keeping a close eye on the tournament to figure out potential future stars. Meanwhile, this was not the first time when Musheer played a vital knock under pressure. The Mumbai batter made an unbeaten 203 against Baroda in the Ranji Trophy quarter-final earlier in the year, 55 against Tamil Nadu in the semi-final, and 136 in the second innings of the final against Vidharbha.

The youngster has been a force to reckon with in red-ball cricket and his 181 against the senior India pacers would give him plenty of confidence. The likes of Akash Deep, Avesh Khan, and Khaleel Ahmed dominated the first two sessions of Day 1 but once Musheer got into the groove, he took control of everything. He was mature enough to take responsibility as batting with a tailender is never an easy task.
