Former India cricketer Vinod Kambli has been catching every headline as of late, as he has been sick for quite some time now. Admitted to the ICU of a private hospital in the Thane district. Recent scans have also revealed that Kambli also has clots in his brain.
It was also revealed that Kambli’s condition had been critical a few days ago when he had an extreme urinary infection. However, his condition has now stabilised, and he is expected to be shifted outside of the ICU and discharged after about four days, according to reports.
However, in a major development, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and the Shrikant Shinde Foundation, run by his MP son, have come forward and decided to aid Vinod Kambli. Following the instructions of Shinde, Mangesh Chiwte had visited the hospital and enquired about Kambli’s health.
Furthermore, Shrikant Shinde, the son of Eknath Shinde, came forward and announced financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh for Kambli. The former cricketer expressed his gratitude for the same and even talked about his desire to personally meet the deputy CM and thank him.
Brain scan revealed old clots from recent stroke: Kambli’s Doctor
As for the doctor in charge, Dr. Dwivedi revealed that Vinod Kambli had a high fever when he was admitted to the hospital, and despite his condition being stable, he will still be monitored for a few days before discharge.

“We admitted him on Saturday evening. He was experiencing muscle cramps and dizziness at home. He had a high-grade fever and difficulty walking due to the cramps. Upon investigation, we discovered he had a urine infection, as well as sodium and potassium deficiencies, which caused the cramps. A brain scan revealed old clots, likely from a recent stroke,” Dr Dwivedi told the reporters.
“He was admitted to the ICU due to low blood pressure. While his vitals are stable, his treatment and physiotherapy continue. We are planning to discharge him in 2-3 days. However, his brain condition is not stable, with degenerative changes observed. We are prioritising his rehabilitation,” he added.
