During Australia’s recent T20I victory over Pakistan at the Sydney Cricket Ground, leg spinner Adam Zampa who was playing his 200th international game caught everyone’s attention. Notably, the willy leg spinner donned a new bleached buzz cut that stole the show.

Not just that, it also brought back memories of the iconic Colin “Funky” Miller’s blue hair look. The 32-year-old leg-spinner, known for his funky hairstyle choices, revealed his latest transformation. He also opened up about how he showed his teammates his new look.

“I’m known for my funky hairdos, it’s good energy in the changerooms. I had my hoodie on for the whole bus ride here and revealed it in the changerooms and the boys got around it, so its all good fun,” he said on Fox post-match.

Zampa’s style immediately drew comparisons with the former Australian off-spinner, Colin Miller, who famously sported bright blue hairs during the 2000/01 Frank Worrell Trophy against West Indies. Miller’s blue locks left West Indies legend Courtney Walsh in splits during their Sydney Test encounter.

We don’t feel like the B team here: Adam Zampa

Meanwhile, Adam Zampa’s performance helped Australia secure a 2-0 lead in the T20I series against Pakistan. Spencer Johnson’s exceptional bowling figures of 5/26 was the best performance from the hosts. Zampa also contributed with two wickets as he got rid of Shaheen Shah Afridi and Naseem Shah in the same over, eventually helping the side to restrict the visitors at 134 and winning the game by 13 runs.

“We don’t feel like the B team here. You see these guys in Big Bash and everyone says … when they’re scoring runs and taking wickets, they should be playing more for Australia and when they play more for Australia, they shouldn’t be. It’s great to have them out there. I wouldn’t say they’re ‘B’ cricketers at all,” he added.

Furthermore, the hosts will now fly to Hobart for the final T20I and look to clean sweep the series. Meanwhile, for Pakistan, the next game is a consolation match, but they would want to finish their tour on a high note.
