All eyes were set on the comeback of star India batter KL Rahul who has been struggling with a hamstring injury. The wicketkeeper batter injured his right leg during Lucknow Super Giants’s match against Royal Challengers Bangalore on May 1. Following the injury Rahul missed the rest of the IPL 2023 as well as the World Test Championship final against Australia.

The 31-year-old’s comeback in the Asia Cup 2023 has now faced a huge setback as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced on August 29th that Rahul will miss India’s first two matches of Asia Cup 2023. India are set to play Nepal and Pakistan in their first two matches. The Men in Blue take on Pakistan on September 2nd in their first Asia Cup 2023 match.
