Former West Indies allrounder Kieron Pollard mimicked the recently viral ‘pointing gun’ celebration of the famous Turkish Silver medalist shooter of the Paris Olympics, Yusuf Dikec. During the final game of The Hundred 2024 Men’s competition on Friday, Pollard took a catch of Oval Invincibles’ Donovan Ferreira and then celebrated his wicket.
Consequently, this led the fans to take notice of the moment as they shared their views. Notably, Dikec posed his calm demeanour and went about his shooting with one of his hands in his pocket. Moreover, he was not competing with all the shooting gear which other competitors had donned while shooting. This simple technique of the Turkish shooter got everyone in awe of him as he ended up taking the podium.
Besides Pollard, another West Indian Akeal Hosein too chose to celebrate his wicket by imitating the famous pose of the Turkey-based Olympian. Hosein had dismissed Sam Curran in the process in The Hundred fixture. As a result, fans are relishing how athletes from sports have taken a liking to Dikec’s shooting pose.
