Karun Nair, a prominent figure in Karnataka’s cricket, has announced that he is set to change his team for the upcoming domestic Indian season. In a heartfelt post, Nair revealed his decision to bid farewell to the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) and join the Vidarbha Cricket Association.

Nair’s cricketing journey, spanning over two decades, has been associated with KSCA. His post regarding the team change was full of gratitude as he acknowledged the pivotal role the association played in nurturing his talent and shaping him into the cricketer he is today. He expressed his deep appreciation for the unwavering support, which has been very crucial for him since the start of his career.

“I would like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude for the incredible journey I’ve had with the Karnataka State Cricket Association over the last two decades.

The batter also thanked the mentors, coaches, captains, and teammates who have been very supportive of his growth. Their leadership, mentorship, and belief in him have been vital components of his cricketing journey. As he sets foot on a new path with the Vidarbha Cricket Association, he carries forward the invaluable memories and friendships from his time with KSCA.

“A special thanks to my remarkable coaches, captains, and teammates who I’ve had the privilege of playing under and alongside. Your leadership, mentorship, support and belief in me have been instrumental in my growth as a cricketer,” he added.

Nair has performed well in the limited opportunities he got for the Indian team. His exceptional talent was on display when he scored a brilliant unbeaten 303 runs against England in 2016. This remarkable feat secured him the third-highest score in a single inning in Test cricket for India.

His decision to move to the Vidarbha Cricket Association adds a twist to the upcoming domestic season. All eyes will be on Nair as he steps onto the field with a new team jersey.
