Speaking to the media, he suggested that Guwahati could serve as an alternative venue, citing that managing a crowd of over 65,000 people without proper police protection would be challenging.
However, the Kolkata Police dismissed all “misleading posts,” assuring their readiness to provide security for the match on April 6. Ganguly trusted the statement from the Kolkata Police and believed they were capable of ensuring safety for the fans. An official confirmation regarding the venue is expected soon.
