India and England are all set to continue their ongoing five-game Test series by facing off at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamshala on Thursday, March 7. The ongoing series has been a long one, especially for visitors England.
With four Tests done and dusted, there is quite a big gap between the fourth and fifth Tests and the visitors are looking to utilise the break to its full potential. Ahead of the fifth Test, some of the English players decided to spend their own money to play golf in Bengaluru, as per a report by the Telegraph.
The reports suggested that star wicketkeeper-batter Jonny Bairstow has organised the golf trip to Bengaluru. As part of the break, the team has scattered across the country and wanted to make the most of the break provided.
Furthermore, it is worth noting that several players like Mark Wood, Ben Stokes, Shoaib Bashir, and Ben Foakes have no interest in playing golf, and instead of being in Bengaluru, have proceeded to Chandigarh, which is the base for the team as provided by the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India).
England aim to clinch consolation win in final Test
Speaking of the ongoing series, the Indian team has already clinched the five-game affair after winning the second, third, and fourth Tests of the series, and will look to put in yet another exceptional showing in the fifth and final Test in Dharamshala.
The series began with India losing the very first Test match in Hyderabad as Ben Stokes-led England got off to a flying start. However, the Indian team made a sensational comeback by winning the forthcoming games and even clinching the series in sensational fashion.
However, after three consecutive losses, England will aim to improve and gain a consolation win in Dharamshala as they gear up for the fifth Test.
