The 69th game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 will feature a clash between the five-time champions Mumbai Indians and the Aiden Markram-led Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday, May 21.

Unlike Hyderabad, the game is a must-win for Mumbai, as if they emerge victorious then they might make it to the knockout stages of the tournament. It is also worth noting that Mumbai have won four of their last five clashes at the Wankhede Stadium, and the added support of the home crowd is always a boost for any side.

Ahead of the crucial clash, MI’s star batter Suryakumar Yadav came forward and mentioned the fact that Mumbai would be treating the must-win game as just another match. He also added that the side is aware of its strengths and would be backing them.

“It’s just another game for us. We know what we have been doing at the Wankhede in the last four to five games. We know our strengths, and we’ll back that,” Suryakumar Yadav said in a release shared by Mumbai Indians.

I always try to play with the field: Suryakumar Yadav

Furthermore, Suryakumar Yadav also talked about his playing style and his approach going into the clash against Hyderabad. The 32-year-old had a rocky start to the tournament, however, he was quick to pick up on his form and has amassed 486 runs in 13 IPL matches so far.

“Whatever shots I play, I have already practised them, either in the nets or in my mind. I always try to play with the field. I don’t hit huge sixes, but I try to play less risk, high-reward shots. I feel like the longer I play, the more beneficial it is for the team. I don’t generally practise for more than 15–20 minutes. I know where my run-scoring options are, and I stick to that. If it doesn’t come off, it’s ok. I go back and work on executing them better,” Suryakumar said.
