The Tamil Nadu government, along with the BCCI, was working for a long time to develop and improve the conditions of the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The dressing room area, which is currently ready, has really impressed the Indian cricketers – who are currently in the city to play the third ODI against Australia.
Notably, both dressing rooms have been modelled on international football locker rooms and have a lot of room to keep the kits and other necessary things that a player carries on match days. In a video shared by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), multiple players have lauded the new dressing room as ace pacer Jaydev Unadkat pointed out that it looks complete package.
On the other hand, flamboyant batter Suryakumar Yadav pointed out that the seats are very comfortable and appreciated the amount of space it has.
“The seats are comfortable. When I come inside the dressing room, I like to see a lot of space and use a lot of space. There is a lot of space to keep my kit bag, there’s a nice locker (above the seats) where I can keep my clothes, cap and helmet. Whenever I sit I can see everyone in the dressing room. It’s a beautiful dressing room. Very happy to see it,” Suryakumar said as quoted by News18.
“It looks like a complete package,” Unadkat added.
Really happy that my hometown has one of the best dressing rooms in the world: Washington Sundar
The hometown boy Washington Sundar, who’s currently a part of India’s squad, is also very much impressed with the new dressing rooms. He called it one of the best in the world, while the spin wizard Kuldeep Yadav pointed out that the patterns look similar to that in football.
“I am really happy that my hometown has one of the best dressing rooms in the world,” Sundar said, while Kuldeep added, “The pattern is similar to that in football.”
