Ireland are one of the few upcoming nations who will challenge the giants at the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. The format of inducting 20 teams for the mega event has paved the way for countries like Ireland to flourish on the global stage. As part of the preparations for the impending World Cup, Ireland have decided on a rigorous schedule packed with T20Is.
Ireland have announced three squads for their upcoming T20I series. They will indulge in a three-match series against Pakistan in Dublin, the Tri-Series with Netherlands and Scotland in Voorburg and the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup starting next month. The three squads feature the same 14 players. Their star player, Josh Little will be added as the 15th squad member at the T20 World Cup after the IPL 2024.

“The squad is one that we have gradually developed and tested out over the last 18 or so months – the skill sets we need to cover are there, albeit we have allowed Josh [Little] to continue in the IPL until his side end their campaign, so he will likely join us ahead of the big tournament. We are now entering the final stretch before the T20 World Cup begins, it will be a challenging couple of weeks, but we’re ready to tackle whatever is thrown at us,” said Heinrich Malan, Ireland Men’s Head Coach as quoted by Cricket Ireland.
