IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings announce opening of academy in Tamil Nadu's Tiruppur

The Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise, Chennai Super Kings, recently announced the opening of their Super Kings academy in Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu. The facility will be located at Yali Sports Private Limited, which is about 460 kilometres away from Chennai.

It is worth noting that the facility will offer top-of-the-line amenities for aspiring cricketers. Furthermore, it will also boast a unique infrastructure featuring eight pitches including four turf, two matting, and two astroturf surfaces. Going above and beyond, floodlights have also been installed in the facility.

The programme will be available for boys and girls aged 6 to 23, starting from December 2023. The academy will aim to tap into the potential of the young cricketers with dreams in the city. With the announcement, Kasi Viswanathan, CEO of Chennai Super Kings Cricket Limited, came forward to express his excitement over the same.

“Our mission at Super Kings Academy is to nurture talent across Tamil Nadu. With centres already operating successfully in Chennai, Salem, Hosur, Trichy, and Tirunelveli; we are delighted to extend our reach further by adding Tiruppur as our newest location,” Viswanathan was quoted as saying by MyKhel.

Furthermore, Vishnu Govind, Director of Yali Sports Private Limited, where the academy will be located, shared his excitement over the venue’s announcement as well. Govind stated that he is excited to bring top-class coaches to Tiruppur with the help of Chennai Super Kings.

“We are excited to bring world-class cricket coaching facilities to Tiruppur through our partnership with Super Kings Academy. Our goal is to uncover and groom exceptional cricketing talent from this region by providing them exposure to expert coaching methodologies and top-notch facilities,” Govind said.

Ever since the advent of the Super Kings Academy in April 2022, the academy has established itself in many locations in the country, and with its arrival in Tiruppur, it will definitely bear positive fruits for youngsters.
