The IPL 2025 is around the corner and the teams which have rebuilt after retention and the mega auction are gearing up behind the scenes. The mega auction has led to some players either coming back to their former franchise or reuniting with the players with whom they have shared some successful and heartfelt moments.
Going into this upcoming tournament, it is time to discuss these reunions of players which the fans will be eager to see. Some of these reunions feature some legends and stars who will be coming together after a long time. Whether they will be able to recreate the old charm and prove effective for their franchises will be witnessed in the coming weeks.
Here are the top three player reunions the fans are eager to see in IPL 2025:
3. Glenn Maxwell and Punjab Kings

Glenn Maxwell is no doubt one of the most exciting all-rounders and match-winners, especially in T20 cricket. Maxwell, who was one of the key players for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the last four seasons, will now be returning to the Punjab franchise after being released by RCB. This will be one of the reunions the Punjab Kings fans will be eager to see in the upcoming season.
Maxwell got recognition while playing for the Punjab Kings (then Kings XI Punjab) in 2014. He was their highest run scorer that season with 552 runs from 16 games and played a major role in getting the team to their first IPL final. The fans would want to see him replicate the same performances in the 2025 season as well.

2. Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult (Mumbai Indians)

The Mumbai Indians had a terrible season last year where they finished at the bottom of the table. The highest share of criticism was given to the team’s bowling attack. Coming to the present, they have seemed to have strengthened their attack for this season bringing in some experienced bowlers in the form of Trent Boult who will be joining India star pacer Jasprit Bumrah once again.
Trent Boult played two seasons for the Mumbai franchise in 2020 and 2021 where he and Bumrah were both stars with the ball taking 52 wickets together in 2020 and 34 wickets in 2021. The MI fans would want to see this partnership once again after four years and this skilled and experienced duo create problems with the ball once again.
1. Ravichandran Ashwin and MS Dhoni (Chennai Super Kings)

Ravichandran Ashwin is one of the most successful spinners of all time but has been a bit underrated in the IPL where he has given some incredible performances. The team that had introduced the fans to Ashwin was MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings (CSK) with whom Ashwin had played from 2009 to 2015 and was one of Dhoni’s trusted lieutenants in the team.
This reunion is what might attract all the CSK fans who will not only see Dhoni once again representing the yellow brigade but also witness one of their heroes back. Ashwin has not only played 97 games and taken 90 wickets while playing for the franchise but has also won two titles with them. This is set to be one of the perfect reunions where the two greatest cricketing brains will be back in the yellow jersey.
