Franchises Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) will begin their Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) campaigns by facing each other in the second match of the season. Both teams made it to the last four in IPL 2024 but fell short near the final hurdle—SRH finished as runners-up, while RR secured third place after losing Qualifier 2 to SRH.
Both teams have retained the core of their batting line-ups that brought them success last season. However, as a result of the mega auction, they have completely overhauled their bowling attacks. Both teams will continue with the same captains as last season.
