The IPL (Indian Premier League) 2025 mega auction has seen many huge bids being made for the stars; one of the most expensive buys of the mega auction has been the signing of Rishabh Pant to Lucknow Super Giants for a whopping INR 27 crore.
Furthermore, Shreyas Iyer was roped in by Punjab Kings for INR 26.75 crore as well. 28 per cent of the entire auction purse was spent on only the marquee set of players. As Pant’s services were secured for INR 27 crore, the star batter received a 68.75% salary hike as he was earning INR 16 crore in the previous season.
As for Iyer, the ace batter received a salary of INR 12.25 auction from the previous auction; however, with a massive bid of 26.75 crore, Iyer ended up receiving a 118.37% increase in his IPL salary.
IPL 2025 mega auction getting bigger as PBKS use RTM to secure Arshdeep Singh for INR 18 crore
Arshdeep Singh came under the hammer with a base price of INR 2 crore, however, after a bidding battle between several teams, Punjab Kings eventually used their RTM (Right to Match) card and secured Arshdeep’s services for INR 18 crore.
The star pacer earned a salary hike of 350 percent and he would be keen on giving his best for Punjab once again in the IPL. Kings also roped in Yuzvendra Chahal for INR 18 crore as well. Previously in Rajasthan Royals, Chahal was released by the side ahead of the new season, and after he was bought for 18 crore. Punjab Kings were quite active on day 1 of the IPL 2025 mega auction, roping in several big names.
