Mumbai Indians (MI) ended up getting to 155/9 in 20 overs against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) during Match 3 of the 2025 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The Ruturaj Gaikwad-led side won the toss and opted to field first at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
Star opener Rohit Sharma departed in the very first over of the game. The two others to depart within the end of the powerplay were Ryan Rickelton and Will Jacks. Interim skipper, Suryakumar Yadav, and Tilak Varma struck together a vital stand for the fourth wicket.
However, it was the left-arm wrist-spin of Noor Ahmad which brought about the end of Suryakumar and Tilak for 29 and 31, respectively. Naman Dhir played a handy 12-ball 17-run knock, but fell to the Afghan spinner to grant him his fourth wicket of the evening.
Former CSK bowler, Deepak Chahar, scored a handy unbeaten 28* (15) cameo with the bat to lead his side to a total of 155/9 at the end of 20 overs. Khaleel Ahmed was quite impressive too. The left-arm pacer ended up with 3/29 in four overs.
