Mumbai Indians (MI) skipper Hardik Pandya had a bright smile on his face after dismissing Gujarat Titans (GT) captain Shubman Gill in IPL 2025. Gill looked focused and concentrated on the game, but Pandya’s short delivery sent the batter back to the pavilion.

As he started walking towards the dugout, the bowler stood there and gave a cheeky gaze while watching him leave. It was a brilliant display of batting by Gill, however, the Mumbai captain was smart enough to tempt him with a short delivery that came luring towards the batter slower through the air. Gill connected the ball, only to find the fielder at deep square leg region, where Naman Dhir completed an exceptional catch.

Sai Sudarshan and Gill put up a 78-run partnership, which helped GT set a base. Sudarshan scored 63 runs off 41 balls, while Gill scored 38 runs in 27 balls. Following Gill’s dismissal, Jos Buttler walked out and played a responsible innings of 39 runs in 24 balls.

Skipper Pandya was the standout bowler for MI. He claimed two wickets, took a catch, and made a brilliant throw to dismiss Rahul Tewatia. Overall, it was Hardik Pandya’s day today, and if he shines with the bat, he will surely be a contender for the Player of the Match award. Nonetheless, MI will have to chase 197 runs to get their first win of the season.
