Match 13 of IPL 2024 between the Delhi Capitals and the Chennai Super Kings was memorable for pure cricketing supporters for several reasons. Prithvi Shaw marked a comeback in the IPL after a couple of disappointing seasons with a brisk 43-run knock. Rishabh Pant scored his first half-century after recovering from a horrific car crash that occurred in 2022. Ajinkya Rahane finally came good with the bat after a torrid Ranji Trophy 2024 campaign, and MS Dhoni took fans back in time with a classical onslaught in a high-scoring run-chase, scoring an unbeaten 37* off 16, of which 34 runs came solely via boundaries.
However, the highlight of the eventful evening match transpired after its conclusion, with ground staff seen running across the outfield to pose alongside Dhoni. Dhoni was seen standing in the middle of the group being swarmed by the gleeful ground staff of the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam, who could be seen radiating waves of jubilation while posing with the icon.
The former Indian and CSK skipper has always been renowned as being a down-to-earth and humble person, owing to the modest roots he has come from. Cricketers and various personalities from all around the globe have immense respect and admiration for the 42-year-old, who seems to age like a fine wine. It wouldn’t be wrong to come to a conclusion that the craze for him all around India might be one of the most prominent going around, with it being wonderfully personified by yesterday’s spectacle, with the moment one to cherish for the ground staff for the rest of their lives.
