In a thrilling encounter of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024)  on (Sunday) May 19, Sunrisers Hyderabad emerged victorious against Punjab Kings at Hyderabad. Batting first, Punjab Kings posted a formidable total of 214/5 in their allotted 20 overs.

Atharva Taide provided a solid start with a brisk 46 off 27 balls, supported by Prabhsimran Singh’s impressive 71 off 45 deliveries, which included seven fours and four sixes. Rilee Rossouw also contributed significantly with a quickfire 49 off 24 balls. For Sunrisers Hyderabad, T Natarajan was the pick of the bowlers, claiming two wickets for 33 runs in his four overs.

In response, Sunrisers Hyderabad chased down the target of 215 with just five balls to spare, reaching 215/6 in 19.1 overs. Abhishek Sharma was the star performer for Hyderabad, smashing a scintillating 66 off just 28 balls, featuring five fours and six sixes.

He received valuable support from Nitish Kumar Reddy (37), Rahul Tripathi (33), and Heinrich Klaasen (42). Arshdeep Singh and Harshal Patel were the most successful bowlers for Punjab Kings, claiming two wickets each.

2. Arshdeep Singh rattled Travis Head’s stumps with a peach of a delivery

Arshdeep showcased his class, giving Punjab a flying start by dismissing Travis Head with the very first delivery of the second innings, rattling Head’s stumps.

3. Abhishek Sharma once again showcased his class with a breathtaking innings of 66 runs

Abhishek Sharma has been dominating the bowlers throughout the ongoing mega event, topping the six-hitting chart. Once again, he displayed his prowess with a brilliant innings of 66 runs off just 28 balls, including five fours and six sixes. His performance ensured his team chased down a big total comfortably in the end.
